How to 3D Model: Fundamentals of 3D Design and Modeling

The event, "How to 3D Model: Fundamentals of 3D Design and Modeling,” was organized by our team, ByteWise Matrix, featuring Ms. Princess Juliane Opiaza, a GC alumni and accomplished 2D/3D artist and animator, as the resource speaker. Held on November 21, 2024, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm via Google Meet and Facebook Live, our team took charge of the planning, preparation, and execution to ensure a smooth and engaging experience for the attendees. The event provided valuable insights into the fundamentals of 3D design and modeling, covering essential techniques and tools for creating stunning 3D visuals. It highlighted practical applications and inspired participants to explore the vast potential of 3D modeling in various creative fields.

As one of the organizers of the webinar, "How to 3D Model: Fundamentals of 3D Design and Modeling," I found the experience both fulfilling and educational. My role in technical support allowed me to ensure the seamless operation of the event, managing technical setups and addressing any issues that arose during the session. This task highlighted the importance of precision, quick problem-solving, and effective collaboration to ensure the success of a virtual event.

Through this role, I gained a deeper appreciation for the teamwork and organization required to execute a smooth webinar. Seeing participants actively engaged and inspired by the insights of our resource speaker, Ms. Princess Juliane Opiaza—a GC alumna and skilled 2D/3D artist and animator—made all the effort worthwhile. Ms. Opiaza shared foundational 3D modeling techniques, such as understanding shapes and proportions, utilizing software tools, and enhancing designs with proper texturing and lighting. Her industry experiences and practical advice resonated with participants, making the event a valuable learning opportunity for aspiring 3D creatives.

The webinar "How to 3D Model: Fundamentals of 3D Design and Modeling" provided valuable insights that can be readily applied to practical work. One key takeaway was Ms. Princess Juliane Opiaza’s focus on foundational techniques, such as mastering shapes, proportions, and scale. These principles are essential for creating realistic and functional 3D models, and I plan to incorporate them into my own design projects. By prioritizing these basics, I can ensure that my work is both precise and visually accurate, laying a strong foundation for more complex designs.

The session also emphasized the role of lighting and texturing in enhancing the realism and appeal of 3D models. These elements are critical for creating visually engaging designs, and I intend to use them to bring my future projects to life. This experience has reinforced the importance of learning practical skills that can be directly applied to creative work. Integrating these techniques into future webinars can help participants improve their own projects, ensuring that our events continue to provide meaningful and actionable learning opportunities.

The webinar was met with positive feedback from participants. They praised the event's seamless organization, clear structure, and Ms. Princess Juliane Opiaza's ability to effectively convey essential concepts. The example videos she presented were particularly beneficial, as they helped attendees better visualize the techniques and understand their practical applications.

While the webinar "How to 3D Model: Fundamentals of 3D Design and Modeling" was successful, there are areas to enhance for future events. One improvement would be to provide participants with pre-event materials, such as a brief overview of the tools or techniques to be covered, enabling them to follow along more effectively.
